Homemade takoyaki... (octopus ball)

Does anyone love eating takoyaki? (octopus ball)
I love it so so so much.
But I couldn't find them in houston restaurant. =(
So I decided to make it own using a cake pop machine.
I know it's kinda weird, but it works. XD

materials:
A. 300g low gluten white flour,
B.3g salts,
C. 2 - 3 eggs, (depends on the size of the eggs)
D.octopus (cut it into little pieces),
E. seaweed (shred it),
F. 2 tsp. soy sauce
(or any kind of sauce that u wanna eat with)

oh, recommend a place:
Nippan Raido Japanese Supermarket

I think you can buy a lot of japanese food or snacks there.
I bought the cakepop machine in KOHL's.

Steps:

1. pre heat the cakepop machine,
2. mix ABCD, then pour them to the machine,
3. close the machine around 15-20 seconds (it very depends)
4. open the machine and use a toothpick to roll and turn over the balls until they are done

When they are done:

Time to make fun on them.
XD

forgive my poor drawing.
I just used the paint application provided by the system itself.

YUMMY!
The final look:

Can someone tell me where I can find takoyaki in houston? Like which restaurant?
You know, sometimes I am just too lazy to make. LOL

  1. Yummy :D I like your drawing! It's cute haha. I like the one on the bottom - "My butt is over cooked." :P Oh also, I haven't seen any restaurants with takoyaki (it's hard to find anything but ramen and Americanized sushi here), but Daido has pre-made takoyaki in the freezer that you can cook in the oven! Maybe you can try Genji? They don't have a menu online but people posted pictures, and they seem to have a lot of real Japanese food. I haven't been, but their stuff looks yummy so I wanna go! > http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/genji-japanese-restaurant-and-karaoke-bar-houston?select=TNr5ZKbTbcxeLH-Y1c8IFg#TNr5ZKbTbcxeLH-Y1c8IFg

LOL, I finally found some takoyaki in Chinatown, Dun huang plaza. A restaurant called "Kubo". However, they speak Japanese, last time I went there but couldn't communicate with them >_< LOL
Finally google image and show them what I wanna order HAHA.
Btw, have you ever been to "Miyagi" on bellaire? Every time I went there, there was a LONG line. And always asked me to wait like at least an hour or above. SO I have to give up waiting =( too hungry =p
I really wanna try that restaurant one day, as long as I dont need to wait that long. lol
