Homemake exotic version of "sushi"

Today I am going to show how to make an "exotic" version of sushi.
Because I personally love sushi, but sometimes it is too lazy to go out and eat.
So here I come with an idea.

Since I love the idea of sushi, which combine the meat/vege/seafood with rice in a small piece that easy for us to bites; I made another version of sushi.

I dont have salmon or unagi or any other japanese sushi material in my fridge.
Okay, actually the only thing I got was some left-over rice. LOL

My version of sushi is for people who love beef.
(I know it is weird if I tell you sushi come with beef.)
But they are pretty yummy indeed.
Try it out.

Here is the process:

Materials:
sliced beef, rice,
seaweed, white sesame,
barbeque sauce, pepper powder and cornstarch.

Steps:
1. cut the seaweed into tiny pieces and mix with rice;
2. get a bowl, add some bbq sauce, pepper powder and one tsb of cornstarch, stir them;
3. put the mixed sauce on the sliced beef evenly with a spoon;
4. put the mixed rice on the sliced beef  and roll it;
5. after finishing rolling, put a thin layer of sauce on the top of the roll (high recommend add some honey);
6. pour some white sesame on the top of the rolls;
7. set your oven timer 15-20 minutes and waiting for eating!

These are some I made:
(before putting to oven)

Actually I am really not sure if I can still call it "sushi" haha.
It is yummy!!!
the sliced beef will become crispy if you set the timer 20 mins or above.
between 15~20 is kinda juicy.

By the way, I just enrolled my classes next semester.
I enrolled 3 DIGM classes and 2 other on my degree plan which totally combines a 15 credit-hrs schedule like this semester.
I chose DIGM 3351, 3353, 3354.
But I choose sugar land campus next semester. Hope I can still see some of you guys there.

  1. This is very interesting... Believe it or not, I had actually made sushi rolls with chicken before, and it wasn't that bad either! Maybe I'll try this one day. Thanks for sharing ;)

  2. Haha that's really interesting. It's like "let's see what we have in the fridge" sushi. I tried to make onigiri once with the wrong kind of rice (knowingly). I was very sleepy and wanted to see what would happen.. Well.. It was basically just a pile of non-sticky rice with seaweed and salmon in it. Haha.
